MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo women's swimming's Molly Hansen and men's basketball's James McNeil have been named Montevallo Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 9.

Molly Hansen (Women's Swimming)

Hansen won four events over four days of competition. In the Falcon's home meets this week against Delta State and Ouachita Baptist, Hansen placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke, and 200 yard breaststroke with times of 1:08.61, 1:08.42, 2:29.99 and 2:33.43 respectively. She also had five second place finishes including three at the Argo Winter Classic, where she swam her fastest times of the week at 1:07.85 in the 100 yard breaststroke, 2:27.89 in the 200 yard breaststroke and 2:15.10 in the 200 yard individual medley. 

James McNeil (Men's Basketball)

McNeil hit two final-second shots to push the Falcons to a 2-1 record over the holiday break. In three games, the senior guard scored 55 points, had 17 rebounds and 10 steals while averaging 56.4 percent shooting from the floor and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. In the Falcon's win against West Florida, McNeil made a layup and drew the foul  with six seconds left in the game, sinking the free-throw to put the Falcons up by two. In the win against AUM, McNeil hit a three pointer with 1.6 seconds to give Montevallo its second win of the break.
