MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Wrestling team continues its inaugural season on Wednesday, Nov. 8, with its first duals of the season in Newberry, South Carolina.
 
In the first team competition in program history, the Falcons will first face off against Allen University at 5 p.m. central time before facing Newberry at 6:30 p.m. central time.

Last Time Out
The Falcons are coming off an impressive showing at the Patriot Open last week – the first event in program history. UM posted 10 placers, three finalists and two champions in the open.

About Montevallo
The Falcons will partake in the first dual in program history on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
 
UM is coming off an impressive performance at the Patriot Open with 10 placers, three finalists and two champions.
 
Campbell transfer Gabe Hixenbaugh won the 133 Open with a 4-0 record and had two major decisions and a tech fall win.
 
Derek Hussey posted a 5-0 record as he won the freshman/sophomore 174 bracket.
 

Scouting Allen
Allen dropped its lone dual match of the year, 57-0 to the Citadel on Wednesday, Nov. 1. In the UNC Pembroke Classic last week, Allen featured one placer, Christian Poplous in the 197 bracket.
 


Scouting Newberry
Newberry competed in the UNC Pembroke Classic and featured 15 placers with four champions.  The Wolves won the 149, 157, 184 and 285 categories.
