MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's track and field teams finished in Day Two of the Samford Multi on Friday, Jan. 19.
Freshman
Walter Womack shined for the Falcons as he finished 10
th overall in the heptathlon with 4230 points. The field of 19 was loaded with Division I school and athletes as Montevallo was the only Division II school in the multi. Womack was able to set personal records in both the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.58 and in the pole vault a height of 3.10 meters.
David Vick, a Columbiana, Alabama native, turned in two personal best's as he had a height of 3.60 meters in the pole vault and threw a distance of 9.35 meters in the shot put.
Will Stroud placed sixth for the Falcons in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:02.59. Stroud also set PR's in the 60-meter with a time of 7.97 and had a personal best throw of 9.96 meters in the shot put.
The Falcons will next compete in the Samford Open on Saturday, Jan. 20 hosted by Samford University at the Birmingham Crossplex.
