TROY, Ala. – Montevallo Track and Field opened the Troy Doc Anderson Multi and Invitational with six podium finishes on Friday.
Katie Wilkerson earned the lone top finish for Montevallo, placing first overall in the Javelin with a throw of 40.65m. Katlyn Brothers and Emma Michael also performed well in the Javelin, as Brothers placed fourth (35.74m) and Michael finished fifth (32.49m).
Khila Corrothers earned the other podium finish on the women's side, placing third in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.41m. A pair of Falcons earned top-five finishes in the Pole Vault, as Leah Dendy placed fourth (3.20m) and Mari Sofie Een placed fifth (2.75m).
Morgan Remley led the way on the track with a seventh-place finish in the 5000m (20:25.93).
A trio of Falcon men earned second-place finishes in Zane Weeks (Javelin – 59.05m), Christopher Johnson (Hammer – 51.13m), and Corey Perkins (Long Jump – 6.87m). Caleb Newell also earned a podium finish, placing third in the Hammer with a throw of 47.02m. Four other Falcon men earned top-five finishes in the field, including a fourth-place finish from Preston Bennet (Hammer – 42.54), and fifth-place finishes from Marquis Trainer (Long Jump – 6.59m), Cooper Myl (Hammer – 40.82m), and Eran Foye Jr. (Javelin – 46.48m).
Kam Thornton and Jackson Howse led the way for the men on the track with identical fourth-place finishes. Thornton placed fourth in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 56.59 and Howse placed fourth in the 5000m with a time of 16:06.91.
