FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo wrestling team collected two top-three finishes and six placers at the Georgia Open on Sunday, Nov. 10.
20 wrestlers represented Montevallo across the 10 weight classes in the open brackets.
Colt Brown recorded the highest finish of the day for the Falcons. Brown placed in second in the 125-weight class as he went 3-1. His wins included a 7-0 decision over Erick Hair of Southeastern, an 11-6 decision over Mikey Doerr of Life and a 4-2 decision over Gylon Sims of The Citadel to earn his way to the championship bout.
Jake Chisolm earned a third-place finish as he went 5-1 for UM. Chisolm's five wins included a 19-1 tech fall over Gailan Wilds of Brewton-Parker, a 20-5 tech fall over Izac Mmartinez of Southeastern, a 9-6 decision over Justin Hayes of The Citadel, a 6-3 decision over Cade Parent and a win in the third-place match by forfeit.

Individual Highlights
- Daniel McEntyre picked up his first win of the season with a fall in 6:36 over Andravious Brahm of Andrew College.
- Colt Brown earned three wins, all by decisions. (7-0, 11-6, 4-2)
- Noah Smith won over Eli Pendergrass with a 14-7 decision.
- Kaden Brown placed in seventh with a 5-2 record on the day. Brown had a 19-3 tech fall, a 18-10 major decision, a 6-5 decision and two medical forfeits.
- Chad Strickland won two bouts by the way of a 20-2 tech fall and a 10-1 major decision.
- Nick Dempsey came in eighth place in the 149-weight class. Dempsey recorded five consecutive wins with falls of 1:30 and 4:16, an 11-6 and 8-1 decision and a medical forfeit.
- Carson Freeman came in sixth for the 157-weight class. Freeman opened the day with a fall of 1:26, then followed up with a 17-2 tech fall, a 10-2 major decision and a 4-2 decision.
- Jake Chisolm won five bouts. Two tech falls, two decisions and a medical forfeit.
- Cole Sykes placed in eighth with a 4-2 record. He picked up wins by the way of a 10-7 decision, a 14-5 major decision, a 31 second fall and a 16-1 tech fall.
- Jeffery Tubbs won three bouts today. He picked up a 16-3 major decision, an overtime tiebreaker victory and a 5-1 decision.
- Sam Euceda-Torres won twice with a fall in 3:38 and a 17-5 major decision.
