BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Montevallo men's track and field's Caleb Kariuki has been named Gulf South Conference Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office, Wednesday.

Caleb Kariuki, a graduate student from Auburn, Ala., competed in the triple jump and jumped a distance of 13.91 meters which placed him in seventh at the Samford Bulldog Invite. Kariuki has been successful this season in the long jump and triple jump. He won the triple jump event at the Emory Crossplex Showdown with a distance of 14.11 meters and placed in third in the long jump at the Samford Indoor Open with a jump of 6.99 meters. 

Caleb Kariuki and the Falcons are in action on Thursday, Feb. 15 for the first day of the Gulf South Conference Indoor Championship.
