Falcons Set Three Provo Marks in Final Day of the GSC Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's track and field team's finish the 2024 indoor season at the GSC Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 16.

The men's squad finished fourth and women's team finished fifth. 
 
Caleb Kariuki continues to dominant the triple jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 14.44 meters. Kariuki won first-place for the second time at the GSC Championships. Joshua Pruitt would finish in second-place in the triple jump with a jump of 13.87 meters.
 
Nyla Shipman had a career day as she set a personal record and an NCAA provisional mark of 18.50 meters in the weight throw. Shipman would take first-place in the event. In the heptathlon pole vault, Will Stroud set a personal record as he cleared a jump of 3.65 meters.
 
Walter Womack finished third in the heptathlon with 4306 points. Womack placed first in the 60-meter with a time of 7.07, the long jump with a distance of 6.30 meters and finished second in the high jump as he cleared a height of 1.80 meters.
 
 The Falcons will next be in action on Saturday, Mar. 2 for the first outdoor meet of the 2024 season at the Victor Icebreaker Duals, hosted by Berry College.
