GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Division II Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District teams, with 12 Falcons being recognized.
Along with meeting academic requirements, the student-athletes must post a top-50 regional ranking in a single track & field event (indoor or outdoor) or a top-50 individual performance at cross country regional championships.
Six Falcon men were honored including, Preston Bennett, Ryan Cox, Christopher Johnson, Caleb Newell, Wyatt Pugh, and Zane Weeks.
Bennett posts a 3.52 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a Mass Communications degree, while holding top-50 regional indoor marks in Shot Put and Weight Throw, and top-50 outdoor marks in Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer.
Cox posts a 3.70 cumulative GPA in pursuit of an Exercise and Nutrition Science degree, while holding a top-50 regional indoor mark in the Mile.
Johnson posts a 3.66 cumulative GPA in pursuit of an Exercise and Nutrition Science master's degree. He holds top-50 regional indoor marks in the Shot Put and Weight Throw, and top-50 outdoor marks in Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer.
Newell posts a 3.61 cumulative GPA in pursuit of an Elementary Education degree, while holding top-50 regional indoor marks in Shot Put and Weight Throw, and top-50 outdoor marks in Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer.
Pugh posts a 3.77 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a Mathematics degree, while holding top-50 regional indoor marks in Shot Put and Weight Thow, and a top-50 outdoor mark in Hammer.
Weeks posts a 3.58 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a Nursing degree, while holding a top-50 indoor regional mark in Weight Throw and top-50 outdoor marks in Hammer and Javelin.
Six Falcon women were honored including Samantha Bennett, Leah Dendy, Hallie Harrell, Elizabeth Hayhurst, Sarah Turner, and Katie Wilkerson.
Bennett posts a 4.00 cumulative GPA in pursuit of an Elementary Education degree, while holding top-50 regional indoor marks in the 60-meter and 200-meter, and top-50 outdoor marks in the 100-meter and 200-meter.
Dendy posts a 4.00 cumulative GPA in pursuit of an Exercise and Nutrition Science degree, while holding top-50 regional marks in indoor and outdoor Pole Vault.
Hayhurst posts a 3.51 cumulative GPA in pursuit of an Accounting degree, while holding a top-50 regional indoor mark in High Jump and top-50 outdoor marks in Discus and Javelin.
Turner posts a 3.71 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a Mass Communications degree, while holding top-50 regional indoor marks in the 800-meter and Mile, and top-50 outdoor marks in the 800-meter and Mile, and top-50 outdoor marks in the 800-meter and 1500-meter.
Wilkerson posts a 3.68 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a Biology degree, while holding a top-50 regional indoor mark in Shot Put and top-50 outdoor marks in Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin.
