Box Score 2 DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo softball team drops both games to No. 1 North Georgia on Tuesday, Mar. 19 in Dahlonega, Ga.
GAME ONE
The top ranked Nighthawks took game one against the Falcons with a big fourth inning where they scored six runs. They took the lead early with a triple off the center field wall. Montevallo responded with a solo home run from
Kendall Channell. Channell roped her fourth homer of the season down the left field line that just stayed fair.
UNG would pick up a run in the third inning with an RBI ground out. In the bottom of the fourth, the Nighthawks would pick up six runs on three hits. The big blow in the inning was a grand slam to center field to push the score to 7-1 then the Nighthawks would pick up two more runs in the inning.

GAME NOTES
- Kendall Channell would pick up her fourth homer of the season and the 15th RBI of the year in the second inning.
- Sydnee Reaves collected her 10th multi-hit game of the year. Reaves knocked her eighth double of the season in the fifth inning.
- Lily Stone recorded her 18th base knock of the season.
GAME TWO
In what was a pitcher dual between Montevallo's
Taylor Lloyd and North Georgia's Tybee Denton, the Nighthawks would emerge victorious. Lloyd was excellent for the Falcons as she went five strong innings while she allowed only two hits and one earned run. She struck out five Nighthawks in her outing.
Ariana Pinder would come on in the bottom of the sixth and throw a 1-2-3 inning to give the Falcons a chance in the seventh.
North Georgia would pick up the lone run of the game in the fifth inning when they hit a solo homer to left field which was the difference in the game. Montevallo had chances late in the game in the sixth inning with first and second, not out and in the seventh as they got the lead-off runner aboard but weren't able to score.
