MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo softball team plays their final midweek of the season as they take on Miles College on Tuesday, Apr. 16 at 2:00 p.m. CT and 4:00 p.m. CT.
Last Time Out
Montevallo is coming off being swept by West Florida last weekend. In the final game of the series, UM led 7-4 in the seventh inning but was unable to close the game out.

Hitting
Sydnee Reaves comes in as the top hitter for the Falcons as she picked up four hits in the weekend against West Florida. The sophomore slugger added her 15
th home run of the season, a 3-for-4 game and her 57
th and 58
th RBI of the season. Reaves is two RBI away from being the single-season record holder for most RBI in a season in softball program history. She is eighth in the GSC with a .429 average, third with an OPS of 1.455, sixth with 15 homers and third with a slugging percentage of .955.
Over the weekend,
Ariana Pinder hit her eighth long ball of the season and she is now tied for second on the team with
Molly Pendley in home runs. Pinder now has 50 hits on the season. With her 15
th stolen base of the season,
Ansley Hudson is now one of 15 players with 15 or more stolen bases in the conference this season.
Bentlee Stiner now has 10 doubles on the season as she knocked a double against West Florida in game three.
The Falcons remain in the middle of the GSC with a team batting average of .299, the eighth most homers in the conference with 48 and are ninth with an on base percentage at .386.
Pitching
In game one of the series against West Florida,
Rachel Whiddon posted her seventh outing of the season where she did not allow any runs. Whiddon went 1.1 scoreless innings in the ballgame. The Falcons are eighth in the GSC with a team ERA of 5.26 and with 184 total strikeouts. UM allows opposing hitters to hit at a .309 clip.
Scouting Miles
The Golden Bears come in with an 8-25 overall record with a 5-14 record in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Miles is currently fifth in the west division. The team is currently on a five-game losing streak and has only scored four runs in their last five ballgames. In their most recent SIAC match up, the Golden Bears fell to Tuskegee in a run rule by a score of 0-8.
Michelle Tanks leads Miles with a .312 batting average while she's added 24 hits, two homers and nine RBI. Desalynn Nesbitt leads the Golden Bears with three home runs and an even 10 RBI on the season. Jordan Davis follows with 10 RBI of her own.
Montevallo is 6-0 all-time against Miles won both ends of their previous double-header match up on Feb. 27 where the Falcons on 11-3 and 9-1. This will be the Falcons second and third road game at Miles in their short history.
