York, the lone Peach Belt athlete named in the release, finished the season with a Div. II best .725 faceoff win percentage on a 140-for-193 mark. With 15 starts in 15 games in 2024, the Hazel Green, Ala. native scored a total of three goals on four shots with three shots on goal while picking up a team-high 72 ground balls for a second-ranked 4.80 ground balls per game among PBC leaders. York owns several Montevallo records with a .725 faceoff win percentage (2024), a total of 159 faceoff wins in a single season (2023), and a career faceoff win percentage of .644 with a record 440 wins on 683 attempts.
The senior faceoff specialist scored a season-high two goals in Montevallo's win over Emmanuel on March 9 with a 13-for-14 faceoff mark in that outing. York also tallied a season-high with 15 faceoff wins on two separate occasions while posting a perfect 13-for-13 mark in Montevallo's matchup with Embry-Riddle on Feb. 29. A season-best 11 ground balls came on March 30 in Montevallo's win over Lander.
