TEMPE, Ariz. – The Montevallo men's and women's tennis teams garnered post-season recognition, with 18 Falcons being named to the ITA Scholar-Athlete list. Both teams were also honored as ITA All-Academic Team selections.
To receive ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, the student-athlete must have a GPA of at least a 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Programs on the All-Academic Teams list must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above.
On the men's side,
Jonathan Ivarsson,
Leonidas Lazarides,
Nick Hartmann,
Paul Sobich, Romeo Navarro,
Ryota Nakajima,
Samuel Maia, Samuel Parsons,
Simon Luigs, and
Gabriel Variano received these honors.
The men's team collected a 3.566 cumulative GPA to earn a spot on the ITA All-Academic Team list.
Across Division II men's tennis, 543 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 78 programs earned All-Academic Team distinction.
On the women's side,
Claire Jaramba,
Erika Freire,
Isabelle Barfoot,
Johanna Kullmann,
Klara Podskubkova,
Latizia Bojara, Lieselotte Hartlohner, and
London Breedlove received this award.
As a collective, the women's team acquired a 3.795 cumulative GPA to capture a spot on the All-Academic Team list.
Across Division II women's tennis, 759 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 112 programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
