AIKEN, S.C. – The University of Montevallo volleyball falls in their first match of the USC Aiken Invitational to North Greenville, 0-3, on Friday, Sept. 13.
Kalin Duncan led the Falcons with 14 assists while she added two digs and a service ace.
Nikol Antova tallied eight kills, nine digs, three total blocks and an ace.

- Despite the loss, Montevallo had more assists (29-26) and digs (31-29) than North Greenville.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- North Greenville took control of the match early by taking the first four points.
- Down 10-5, Montevallo mounted a 3-0 run with kills from Eliza Tyrrell and Claire Hayes with an ace from Ava Wind.
- The Trail Blazers took the next eight out of 11 points.
- NGU won the final three out of four points to take the first set.
Set 2
- NGU came out strong by taking a 13-3 lead.
- After a UM timeout, Montevallo wont he next five out of six points with aces by Nikol Antova and Ava Wind and kills by Danielle Greene and Eliza Tyrrell.
- North Greenville went on to take the set by closing out the Falcons with five consecutive kills.
- The falcons struggled this set with 10 attack errors.
Set 3
- North Greenville kept their foot on the gas with a 16-2 advantage.
- The Trail Blazers finished off Montevallo by winning the final four out of five points.
- NGU held Montevallo to a .04 hit percentage in the final set.

The Falcons will next play Carson-Newman in game one of day two on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10:00 a.m. CT. UM will turn around and face Francis Marion at 2:00 p.m. inside the Convocation Center on the campus of USC Aiken.
