MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo wrestling team shutouts out Shorter, 50-0, for their first shutout in program history on Tuesday, Jan. 14 inside Central State Bank Arena. The win is also the Falcons first home Conference Carolinas dual win in program history.
In the battle of the birds, Montevallo made history as they blanked the Hawks by winning all 10 bouts including three tech falls, two pins, two major decisions and a decision. Shorter forfeited in the 125 and 197-weight classes.

Baxter Hoffman and
Willie Cox picked up their first career victories in Central State Bank Arena. Brown would pick up an 8-3 decision win over Shorter's Brayden Gibson in the 141-weight class. Hoffman won by fall over Nahzir Turner in 6:51. Hoffman now has five falls on the season. Cox would close out the dual for the Falcons with a 20-5 tech fall over Eli Kimball in 5:59. Cox moves to 4-0 in tech falls for his freshman campaign in the purple and gold.

Individual Highlights
- Colt Brown won by forfeit and is now 16-5 on the season including 7-0 in duals.

- Carson Freeman followed Dempsey up with a second consecutive tech fall for the Falcons as he won 20-3 in 2:13. Freeman now leads the team with a record of 7-0 in tech falls this season.
- Aiden Knight won by a 17-6 major decision and is 3-1 in majors this season.
- Baxter Hoffman picked up his fifth pin of the season and is now tied for first on the team.
- Jeffery Tubbs picked up his 12th win of the season with a forfeit in the 197-weight class.
- Willie Cox moved to 4-0 in tech falls this season with a 20-5 win over Eli Kimball in 5:59.
