MONTEVALLO, Ala. – For the first time in program history, the University of Montevallo wrestling team has earned two individual rankings.
 
Sophomore's Colt Brown and Jake Chisolm come in ranked inside the top 20 in their respective weight classes by theopenmat.com for Division II.
 
Colt Brown makes history as the first wrestler in program history to be ranked in the 125-weight class as he comes in at 20th. Brown has proved to be one of the top 125's in Division II as he has a 16-5 record including a perfect 7-0 in dual bouts. The Lakeland, Florida native is an impressive 9-1 in decisions, 2-1 in tech falls and 2-0 in pins so far in the 2024-25 season. Brown has excelled in conference dual bouts as he has wins over Coker's Mason Moody, UNC Pembroke's Joseph Bruscino, Belmont Abbey's Brett Balzan, Limestone's William Finnearty and King's Tyson Upchurch.
 
Jake Chisolm continues to rise in the rankings as he sits in 17^th in the most recent rankings. This is the third consecutive ranking by theopenmat.com including Chisolm. The Oxford, Alabama native has 14 wins this season including two ranked wins and a 6-0 record in tech falls. Chisolm has defeated currently ranked wrestlers including No. 3 Cory Peterson of McKendree and No. 18 Anthony Erickson of Central Missouri.
