LAKELAND, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's cross-country teams closed out their 2025 season at the NCAA Division II South Regional Championship on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida.
The women opened competition with a 6K race at 7:40 a.m. Eastern, followed by the men's 10K at 8:55 a.m. The regional meet featured elite programs from across the Gulf South, Sunshine State, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences, all competing for a spot at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
Montevallo Men
The Falcon men placed 15
th overall out of 18 teams, scoring 397 points in their first 10K race of the season.
Junior
Jackson Howse led Montevallo with a strong run, finishing 47
th overall in 34:04.53 to pace the Falcons.
Ryan Cox followed in 67
th with a time of 35:13.63, while
Joshua Howard placed 79
th in 35:49.94.
Estan Wrights crossed the line in 37:26.83 for 100
th, and
Owen Marquardt rounded out the scoring five in 104
th at 37:45.23. The Falcons continued to display the steady development and depth that defined their 2025 campaign.
Montevallo Women
The Montevallo women saw four finishers at regionals, with several strong individual performances highlighting the effort.
Freshman
Sable George once again led the Falcons with a time of 23:32.40, capping an impressive postseason stretch that included a top 25 finish at the GSC Championship.
Ava Taylor followed closely behind in 23:59.45, while
Breanna Aultman (25:42.94) and
Morgan Remley (25:48.86) completed Montevallo's quartet of finishers.
With only four runners completing the race, the Falcons did not record a team score but gained valuable regional experience against one of the strongest fields in Division II.
