BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its weekly tennis awards on Wednesday, with
Guilherme Gracioli being named GSC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
Gracioli had a solid week going a perfect 3-0 in singles action, along with a 2-1 mark in doubles play. The freshman helped Montevallo secure a 3-0 record this week.
All of Gracioli's singles wins came in straight sets. He opened the week with a solid 6-0, 7-5 win over Greyson Williams of Young Harris at the No. 3 spot. Gracioli followed that up with a pair of wins at the No. 2 spot, defeating Harry Browning of Delta State (6-4, 6-4) and Ignacio Mora of Christian Brothers (6-1, 6-2).
Gracioli teamed up with
Ryota Nakajima to earn a pair of doubles victories at the No. 3 spot, defeating Young Harris 7-6 and Christian Brothers 6-4.
The Falcons are back in action on Thursday, as the Falcons travel to face Augusta.
