BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – In the final set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 season, the Gulf South Conference has named
Brandon Fussell Player of the Week and
Camden Andrews Freshman of the Week after leading Montevallo to a 2-0 record.

Fussell averaged 24.5 points per game on 44.1-percent shooting and 92.9 percent from the line while adding 5.0 assists, 3.5 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game. The sophomore guard tallied his second 30-point game in the last three outings with a 30-point performance in a win over West Florida while adding three rebounds and three assists. Fussell followed up with a 19-point outing in a road win over No. 9 Valdosta State with a 6-for-14 mark from the field while adding seven assists, five steals and three rebounds.
Andrews scored 13.5 points per game on 39.1 percent from the floor to go along with 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. In Montevallo's road win over West Florida, the Memphis, Tenn. native scored nine points on 3-of-6 from deep while adding seven rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes on the floor. Andrews then added an 18-point performance on 50-percent shooting to go along with three rebounds and two assists in Montevallo's win over No. 9 Valdosta State.
Fussell and Andrews head into the postseason with a matchup against sixth-seeded West Alabama at 7 p.m. in the first round of the GSC Tournament.
