MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Montevallo track and field teams opened the Berry Field Day Multi and Invite strong, as the men sit in first and the women sit in third after the first day of action.
Emily Wolf and
Gabe Gamble earned the lone top finishes of the day, as Wolf placed first in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 48.75m and Gamble placed first in the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.92m.
DeAndre Archie finished right behind Gamble, placing second with a jump of 13.72m.
Drew Cheslock placed fifth with a jump of 13.22m, while
Farrah Hawkins finished sixth on the women's side with a jump of 10.26m.
Leah Dendy finished right behind her, placing seventh with a jump of 10.06m.
Jacob Harper earned the highest place finish for Montevallo in running events, placing second in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 55.50.
Slate Rohrer came right behind him, placing third with a time of 55.79.
Tyrone Reese also placed in the top ten in the 400m Hurdles, finishing seventh with a time of 57.26.
Sarah Turner and
Abby Snyder earned top-ten finishes in the 1500m. Turner placed fifth with a time of 4:54.82 and Snyder placed eighth with a time of 5:00.39. On the men's side
Josh Stidfole placed 11
th with a time of 4:05.40.
Jackson Howse placed sixth in the 5000m with a time of 15:34.75, while
Reagan Oliver led the way on the women's side, placing 11
th with a time of 18:53.74.
Montevallo closes action in Georgia on Saturday.
