MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Montevallo track and field teams closed the weekend in Georgia strong, as the men finished first and the women placed third at the Berry Field Day Multi and Invite.
The men tallied 172.50 points to secure the first-place finish, while Life (89) and Centre (86.50) rounded out the top-three. The women tallied 113 points to secure the third-place finish, while Berry (148) and Centre (129) placed first and second.
On the men's side, Montevallo secured four first place finishes on Saturday.
Slate Rohrer placed first in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.85,
Cameron Prosser placed first in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:08.28, and
Julian Fore ran a 1:56.10 to place first in the 800m. The Men's 4x4000m Relay team consisting of
Jacob Harper,
Slate Rohrer,
Julian Fore, and
Drew Cheslock also garnered a first-place finish with a time of 3:18.23.
Montevallo added five second place finishes on the men's side including
Zane Weeks (Javelin Throw – 55.26m),
Eran Foye Jr. (High Jump – 1.91m),
Mateo Lopez-Hernandez (3000m Steeplechase),
Jacob Harper (400m – 49.34), and the Men's 4x100m Relay team (42.42).
On the women's side, Montevallo secured a pair of top finishes.
Emily Wolf placed first in the Discus Throw with a distance of 41.26m and
Leah Dendy finished first in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.37m.
Four Falcons secured second place finishes including
Katie Wilkerson (Discus Throw – 40.97m),
Elizabeth Hayhurst (Javelin Throw – 40.45m),
Emily Wolf (Shot Put – 13.05m), and
Josie McDonald (3000m Steeplechase – 12:40.30).
Katie Wilkerson also earned a third-place finish in the Javelin Throw with a distance of 39.62m.
