19 Falcons Earn CSCAA Individual Scholar All-America Honors

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced its 2024-25 Spring Individual Sholar All-America Teams with 19 Falcons named to the academic squads.

OFFICIAL RELEASE

Montevallo women's swimming highlighted the Falcons' selections with 13 student-athletes named Scholar All-America while the men's squad saw six Falcons earn the academic honor.

A pair of Falcons earned First Team Scholar All-American honors in Aleksei Kolesnikov and Keara McGee as the lone Falcons to compete at the NCAA Championship and posted a 3.5 GPA or higher. Kolesnikov, a junior out of Pyatigorsk, Russia, earned his First Team Scholar All-America honor with a 3.76 GPA as a business major while appearing in the 2024-25 NCAA Championships to swim the 50-yard free and the 100-yard fly.  McGee, a junior from St. Augustine, Fla., garnered her Scholar All-America honor with a 4.00 GPA in pursuit of her Mass Communications degree while appearing in the 100-yard freestyle NCAA Championship.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.

Nearly half of all recognized student-athletes—48 percent—majored in a STEM-related field. Business Administration was the most popular individual major, selected by 5.6 percent of student-athletes.
