BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its 2025 men's soccer preseason awards on Tuesday, as
Sebastian Flores was named a Preseason All-GSC Defender, and three Falcons were named to the Newcomer Watchlist. Montevallo tied for eighth in the GSC Preseason Poll.

Flores receives preseason recognition after a solid 2024 campaign where he played in and started all 16 games with a total of 1,432 minutes played. Along with being solid on the defensive front, Flores tallied one goal, seven shots and four shots on goal. His lone goal came in a 3-3 draw at Catawba.
Three Falcons were named to the Preseason Watchlist including
Dakota Hart,
Oscar Vallejo, and Alex Müller.
Hart comes to Montevallo after spending two years Purdue University Fort Wayne where he played in 23 games and earned four starts. The midfielder recorded three goals, three assists, nine points, 17 shots, and eight shots on goal. Vallejo joins the Falcons after spending a year at William Carey where he played in 20 games and earned 17 starts. The defender recorded one goal, five shots, and two shots on goal. Müller rounds out the selections and will play in his first collegiate season after playing for Astoria Walldorf in Germany.
In the GSC Preseason Poll, the Falcons garnered 48 points to tie for eighth with Trevecca Nazarene. West Florida sits in the top spot with a total of 117 points, while Auburn Montgomery (106), and Christian Brothers (105) round out the top-three.
Montevallo kicks off the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 4, against the Francis Marion Patriots in Florence, S.C.
