BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has announced its Preseason All-Conference awards with
Ellery Shearer named to the preseason squad while a trio of Falcons were named to the newcomer watchlist.

The Falcons were voted T-4
th in the Preseason Coaches' Poll tying with Lee with a total of 11 points in the voting system. Montevallo lands ahead of GSC newcomer Virginia State while trailing T-2
nd place finishers Lander and Alabama Huntsville, and Flagler who was voted first in the GSC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Shearer, the Falcons' lone Preseason All-Conference selection, comes into the 2026 season after leading Montevallo with 45 goals while adding a pair of assists for a total of 47 points which were also a team high. The junior attacker also tallied an 11-for-15 mark on free-position shots while adding 15 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. The Johns Creek, Ga. native was named Second Team All-GSC in each of the last two seasons.
A trio of Falcons were named to the newcomer watchlists in a pair of junior transfers and a freshman defender.
Kennedy Goddard and
Gencie Coan come to Montevallo as junior midfield transfers from Queens University and Converse University, respectively. Hailey Jusata was named to the newcomer watchlist as a freshman defender from Lexington, S.C.
The Falcons open the season on the road on Jan. 31 at Newberry College.
