NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Coaches Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its latest NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday, listing Montevallo in the rankings for the first time in program history.

Montevallo comes in at No. 25, after posting its best start in program history with an 11-1 overall record.

The Falcons picked up six wins this past week, sweeping a doubleheader over Miles, before going a perfect 4-0 at the Cougar-Hurricane Classic.

Montevallo dominated its midweek doubleheader with the Lady Bears, outscoring Miles by a combined score of 22-1. The Falcons followed that up with victories over Eckerd (7-2), Mars Hill (8-0), Converse (13-6), and Mount Olive (6-0) at the Cougar-Hurricane Classic.

Many strong performances led to Montevallo sweeping the Gulf South Conference weekly awards as Becca Benton was named Player of the Week, Taylor Lloyd earned Pitcher of the Week, and Taylor Rogers was named Freshman of the Week.

Montevallo opens GSC play this weekend with a road series at Mississippi College.
