MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's lacrosse is set to host Belmont Abbey on Saturday, Feb. 21.

The Falcons head into the weekend with a 3-2 overall record after opening the season with a 21-6 win over Emmanuel on the road on Jan. 30. Montevallo then fell in back-to-back meetings at RV Embry-Riddle and No. 19 Saint Leo on Feb. 6 and Feb. 8. The Falcons then picked up a 20-8 road win over No. 20 North Greenville for the third win over a ranked program in program history. Most recently, Montevallo topped Mars Hill, 18-10, on Feb. 18 in the Falcons' home opener.
Through five games, Montevallo has tallied a total of 65 goals and added 41 assists for a total of 106 points. Montevallo's offense has posted a .606 shot on goal percentage and a .294 shots percentage with an average of 44.2 shots per game. Defensively, the Falcons are averaging 37.20 ground balls per game while adding an average of 13.20 caused turnovers and allowing just 11.80 goals per game on a .556 save percentage.
Matthew Boas leads Montevallo's attack with a total of 30 points on 17 goals and 13 assists while posting a .548 shot percentage and a .774 shots on goal mark.
Lucas Mullen ranks second on the team with 20 points on 12 goals and eight assists while adding a pair of game-winning goals on the season.
Collin Schuster heads Montevallo defense with a team-high eight caused turnovers while adding 11 ground balls.
Brandon Shaffner holds a .681 faceoff win percentage on the season while leading UM with 27 ground balls. In the net,
Alex Egorshin has posted a .574 save percentage while adding a total of 70 saves and just 11.51 goals allowed.
Belmont Abbey heads into Montevallo, Ala. with a 1-1 start to the season after topping Mars Hill, 12-11 on Feb. 7 before falling to Catawba, 13-12, on Feb. 14.
Through two games, Belmont Abbey averages 12.00 goals per game while adding 6.00 assists for an average of 18.00 points per game. The Crusaders have posted a .279 shots percentage while recording a .558 shots on goal mark while averaging 43.0 shots per game. Defensively, Belmont Abbey has tallied an average of 31.50 ground balls per game while recording 5.00 caused turnovers per game. The Crusaders have allowed just 12.00 goals per game with a 12.00 saves per game mark.
Brendan Boschi leads Belmont Abbey's attack with nine points on the season while scoring five goals and four assists with a total of 10 ground balls. Nate Lorenzo has posted a team-high six goals on 16 shots with 10 on goal. Michael Aber has tallied a .583 faceoff win percentage while adding six ground balls on the season. Eddie Kielkopf leads the Crusaders' goalkeeping corps with a .543 save percentage and just 10.96 goals allowed per game.
