GREENVILLE, S.C. – Montevallo wrestling's Max Stedeford has been named the Conference Carolinas Wrestler of the Week following strong performances in the Falcons' dual sweep of Lincoln Memorial and No. 19 King on Wednesday.
Competing at 149 pounds, Stedeford opened the evening with a dominant performance against Lincoln Memorial's James Thaxton, securing a pin in 2:44 for his 10th fall of the season. He followed with a crucial 4-2 decision over NWCA No. 7 Brennan Watkins of King, helping lift the Falcons to an 18-16 victory and clinch a spot in the Conference Carolinas Championship.
The win over Watkins marked Stedeford's third victory over a ranked opponent this season, continuing a strong campaign for the Pittsburgh, Pa., native. Stedeford now sits at 22-4 overall with ten dual wins on the year.

Stedeford and the Falcons will close the regular season on Saturday with a road matchup at Reinhardt before turning their attention to the Conference Carolinas Championship the following weekend.
