MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team is set to open the 2026 home slate with a doubleheader against Miles College on Tuesday afternoon.
Montevallo enters the week with an overall record of 5-1. Last weekend, the Falcons went 3-1 at the Chattanooga Invitational, defeating McKendree, Ohio Dominican, and Young Harris, while falling to No. 8 West Texas A&M.
On the season,
Ariana Pinder holds the highest batting average (.474), while tying with
Bentlee Stiner for a team leading-nine hits. Stiner leads the team in home runs (nine), RBIs (12), and runs scored (seven). Stiner,
Emma Hawkins, and
Taylor Rogers have been solid on the base paths, each with three stolen bases on the season.
In the circle,
Taylor Lloyd holds a perfect 4-0 record with one save, while posting a 1.86 ERA. The senior has pitched three complete games and has 25 strikeouts in 26.1 innings pitched.
Berkley Mooney is 1-0 on the season and holds a 1.62 ERA.
Miles holds an overall record of 3-1 on the season. Last time out, the Lady Bears split a doubleheader with Christian Brothers on Saturday.
Delaney Gray has been solid for the Lady Bears at the plate and in the circle through four games. Gray holds the highest batting average (.714) and has recorded four RBIs. In the circle, Gray has tossed a pair of complete game shutouts in wins over Talladega and Christian Brothers. The junior has recorded 14 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.
