BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its latest set of weekly awards, as Taylor Lloyd was named Pitcher of the Week and Taylor Rogers picked up Freshman of the Week honors.

Lloyd is named GSC Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season and fifth time in her career, after a strong week in the circle. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native went 3-0 in three complete game performances, allowing no earned runs in 21 innings of action. Lloyd recorded 20 strikeouts and finished with an opponent batting average of .151 through the three games. Lloyd now has 20 wins on the year and 129 strikeouts which both rank first in the GSC.

Rogers is named GSC Freshman of the Week for the third time, after a solid week at the plate. The Moody, Ala., native posted a .500 batting average and a .778 slugging percentage through five games. Rogers totaled nine hits, four RBIs, one home run, one triple, seven stolen bases, and six runs scored. Rogers leads the league in stolen bases (34) and is tied for a GSC-leading 48 hits.

Montevallo returns to action later this week with a three-game road series at Delta State (Apr. 2-3).
