MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Track & Field had a solid day at the UWA Invitational on Saturday.
Four Falcon men earned five top-finishes, as Jeremiah Fails led the way with a pair of first place finishes in the 400m (48.57) and 200m (21.52). Three other Falcon men earned top-finishers, including Tyrone Reese (110m Hurdles – 15.01), Jamell Beatty (100m – 10.90), and Marquis Trainer (400m Hurdles – 59.56). Trainer also earned a second-place finish in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.18. Three Falcon men earned third-place finishes in Steven Posey (200m – 22.28), Ryan Cox (1500m – 4:06.12), and Chason Howard (400m – 50.02). The Montevallo men earned a pair of second-place finishes in the relay races. Chason Howard, Jamell Beatty, Steven Posey, and Jeremiah Fails recorded a 41.38 in the 4x100m, while Jackson Allen, Ryan Cox, Josh Stidfole, and Estan Wrights recorded a 3:35.02 in the 4x400m.
Saskia Rhind led the way for the women with a pair of first place finishes in the Shot Put (11.14m) and Discus (38.30m). Four Falcon women earned second-place finishes in Khila Corrothers (Long Jump – 5.51m), Sarah Turner (800m – 2:18.82), Ka'Mya Jackson (200m – 24.98), and Alexis Valentine (3000m – 11:58.38). Kaitlyn Stephens had a solid day, earning a pair of third-place finishes in the High Jump (1.50m) and 110m Hurdles (18.79). Farrah Hawkins and Hallie Harrell also earned third-place finishes, as Hawkins placed third in the Triple Jump (11.03m) and Harrell placed third in the Long Jump (5.39m). Ka'Mya Jackson set a school record in the 100m with a time of 12.19. The Montevallo women earned a pair of third-place finishes in relay races. Trinity Farrior, Hannah Poston, Makayla Amador, and Ka'Mya Jackson recorded a 49.67 in the 4x100m, while Hallie Harrell, Saskia Rhing, Makala Sims, and Ka'Mya Jackson recorded a 4:12.20 in the 4x400m.
Montevallo closes the regular season next weekend at the UAH Rocket City Invitational.
