MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The NCAA released teams and participants for the upcoming 2026 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as Montevallo's Christopher Johnson and Jeremiah Fails were selected to compete in the national field.
Johnson will be competing nationally in the Discus. The Northport, Ala., native holds the seventh best discus throw in DII, with a distance of 56.43m. Johnson closed the season strong at the Gulf South Conference Outdoor Championships and ultimately garnered First and Second Team All-GSC accolades.
Fails will be competing nationally in the 200m. The Birmingham, Ala., native is tied for the 13th best 200m time in DII, clocking in at 20.75. Fails closed the season strong being named Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the GSC Outdoor Championships. He picked up First and Second Team All-GSC honors.
The Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on May 21-23 in Emporia, Kan.
