MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The No. 22 Montevallo softball team closed the regular season on Saturday, dropping a pair of games to No. 14 West Florida.
GAME ONE
Kinsley Byrd earned the start in the circle and pitched her sixth complete game of the season.
West Florida threatened in the top of the fourth, loading the bases with one out. A fielder's choice brought home the first run of the game, but Byrd would force a groundout to limit the damage, as the Argos led 1-0.
Riley Tyree and Taylor Rogers added singles in the next few innings, but the Falcons were unable to place a runner in scoring position. A two-run homer in the top of the seventh sealed a 3-0 victory for the Argos.

GAME TWO
Mya Young had a solid stint in the circle, allowing no runs through 6.2 innings of action.
The Argos got off to a strong start in game two, plating five runs in the top of the second inning.
Montevallo scored its first run of the day in the bottom of the third, as Taylor Rogers tripled, and Emma Hawkins brought her home with an RBI-single.
The Falcons threatened again in the bottom of the sixth, putting a pair of runners on with one two outs, but a foul out ended the rally.
The Argos ultimately held on to secure the 5-1 victory.
