Four Falcons Earn All-Conference Honors; Tyree Named on Gold Glove Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its 2026 softball yearly awards on Wednesday, as four Falcons were named All-GSC honorees and Riley Tyree earned a spot on the Gold Glove team.

Taylor Lloyd was named a First Team All-GSC pitcher after a historical senior season. Lloyd became the Montevallo all-time career wins and strikeouts leader, while also setting new single season records in those areas. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native has been named GSC Pitcher of the Week three times this season and was also named on the NFCA Division II Pitcher of the Year watchlist earlier this season. Lloyd leads the GSC with 23 complete games, while ranking top-five in the league in wins (23), ERA (1.93), strikeouts (145), shutouts (five), and innings pitched (192.1).

Taylor Rogers was named a First Team All-GSC outfielder after a strong initial collegiate season, leading Montevallo in hits (62), batting average (.373), slugging percentage (.645), runs (47), triples (eight), and stolen bases (43), while also holding a team leading 19 multi-hit games. The Moody, Ala., native ranks top-ten in the GSC in triples (tied for first), stolen bases (second), hits (fourth), runs (fifth), and slugging percentage (ninth). She has been named GSC Freshman of the Week four times this season and was also named on the NFCA Division II Player of the Year watchlist earlier this season. Rogers eight triples set a new single season program record.

Becca Benton was named a Second Team All-GSC third baseman, after a strong senior season. The Hayden, Ala., native finished the regular season, tied for third in the GSC in home runs (12), tied for fifth in RBIs (43), and 12th in slugging percentage (.622). Benton has tallied 13 multi-hit games and ten multi-RBI games. Earlier this season, Benton became the second player in program history to be named Louisville/NFCA Player of the Week after posting 11 hits, 16 RBIs, six home runs, and eight runs in a six-game stretch.

Emma Faulk was named Second Team All-GSC utility, after a solid senior season. At the end of the regular season Faulk ranks top-15 in the GSC in slugging percentage (.619). The Enterprise, Ala., native posts a .302 batting average, and has totaled five home runs and 17 RBIs. Faulk has recorded six multi-RBI games. Faulk went 2-for-2 against Columbus State, with both hits being home runs earlier this season.

Riley Tyree was named on the Gold Glove team. The senior first baseman is ranked second in the league in putouts with 329 and third in double plays fielded with 11. Tyree ranks fifth in the league in fielding percentage (.997), only making one error in 342 total chances.

Montevallo opens the GSC Tournament against No. 5-seed Mississippi College on Wednesday.
