YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. –  The Montevallo women's lacrosse team was defeated 19-2 by Young Harris College in the semi-final match of the Gulf South Conference Invitational Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Young Harris jumped out to an early lead in the game, scoring the first goal of the game in the fifth minute to take an early 1-0 lead.  The Mountain Lions scored 13 unanswered goals in the first half to take a 13-0 lead over Montevallo at halftime.
• The Mountain Lions opened the second half on a five goal run to take an 18-0 lead over the Falcons.
• Montevallo scored in the 51^st minute with a goal from Maddie Ellis to get on the board, 18-1.
• After another goal by Young Harris to take a 19-1 lead over Montevallo, the Falcon's Lara Schuetz scored in the 57^th minute to cut the lead to 19-2.

The Falcons were outshot 31-7 by the Mountain Lions who placed 27 shots on frame.
