EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Montevallo women's cross country team captured its second team championship of the season Oct. 14 after claiming the title at the Evansville University Invitational.

EVENT NOTES
- Montevallo finished in first place among a field of six teams, including NCAA Division I schools Austin Peay University and host Evansville University.
- Senior Katie Nelson paced the Falcons and claimed the individual title in the 5K event with her time of 18:06.0, which is the sixth-fastest 5K time in program history, on her way to her 10th individual title in her collegiate career.
- Senior Hannah Evans finished fourth overall in individual standings with her time of 18:53.2 in the 5K event, giving the Falcons two top-5 finishers.
- Junior Lauren Hooper came in 10th overall in individual standings with her time of 20:01.2.
- Freshman Jodi Ann Martin and senior Sierra Millsaps finished 11th overall and 13th overall, respectively, with times of 20:24.8 and 20:27.7, respectively, to give the Falcons five finishers in the top 15 in individual standings.

The Falcons will compete in the 2017 Gulf South Conference Championship on Saturday, Oct. 21 in Moulton, Alabama.
