HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's cross-country teams are set to compete in the UAH Chargers XC Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. The men's 8K is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 8:50 a.m.
This weekend's meet will feature a competitive field of Gulf South Conference opponents, including University of Alabama Huntsville, Christian Brothers, Lee, Valdosta State, West Alabama, and West Florida, providing a valuable mid-season test as the Falcons prepare for the postseason.
Montevallo Men
The men's team enters the meet with strong momentum following a third-place finish at the Bobcat Invitational, where the Falcons scored 91 points.
Zak Ferguson once again led the charge with a second-place individual finish at 26:01.67.
Josh Howse and
Joshua Howard also turned in key performances, finishing 11
th and 24
th, while
Ryan Cox and
Estan Wrights rounded out the scoring five in 32
nd and 29
th. With back-to-back top four team finishes, the Falcons continue to show improved depth and are eager to climb higher in the field stacked with conference competition.
Montevallo Women
On the women's side, the Falcons are aiming to bounce back after a fifth-place finish at the Bobcat Invitational, where they totaled 160 points.
Sable George continued her consistent season with an impressive eighth-place finish in 20:06.55, earning her second top 15 performance of the year.
Ava Taylor,
Morgan Remley,
Kaitlynn Moore, and
Breanna Aultman completed the scoring effort, and the team will look to tighten their pack and improve their position this Saturday in their first 6K race of the season. With several conference teams in the mix, the Falcons have an opportunity to make a strong statement.
