FLORENCE, Ala. - The Montevallo men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2025 season on Friday morning at the UNA Invitational, hosted by the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama.
The men's 8k race kicked off the morning at 7:45 a.m. Montevallo finished ninth out of 14 teams, led by
Zak Ferguson, who turned in an impressive season debut with a tenth-place individual finish and a time of 25:37.56.
Jackson Howse was next across the line for Montevallo, finishing 35
th recording a time of 26:41.72, followed by
Joshua Howard in 48
th with a time of 26:54.03,
Owen Marquardt finishing 71
st in 27:35.62, and
Estan Wrights came in at 27:35.38 to place 80
th.
In the women's 5k, Montevallo placed eighth overall out of 13 teams.
Morgan Remley led the way for the Falcons with a 27
th place finish in 19:39.24, followed closely by
Sable George, who finished 28
th with a time of 19:40.76.
Ava Taylor followed in 36
th recording a time of 20:01.06,
Olivia Blackmon came in at 21:20.44 to place 58
th, and
Kaitlynn Moore finishing 60
th with a time of 21:37.38.
