MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's cross-country teams are set to compete in the 2025 Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Tennessee.

This year's championship will feature a full slate of Gulf South Conference programs, including Alabama Huntsville, Auburn Montgomery, Lee, Christian Brothers, Delta State, Trevecca Nazarene, Valdosta State, West Alabama, Union, and West Florida. With the postseason now underway, the Falcons are looking to peak at the right time and make a statement in the GSC title race.
Montevallo Men
The Montevallo men's team enters the championship meet building off a season of steady improvement and individual breakthroughs. Most recently, the Falcons placed 12th out of 26 teams at the UAH Chargers XC Invitational, highlighted by a standout performance from freshman
Zak Ferguson. Ferguson placed ninth overall with a personal-best time of 24:38.50, marking the second-fastest 8K in program history.
Behind him,
Jackson Howse and
Ryan Cox provided key support with times of 26:10.80 and 26:35.00 respectively, with Cox recording a new personal best.
Estan Wrights and
Joshua Howard rounded out the scoring five, both clocking in at 27:05.40, a PR for Wrights.
The Falcons have shown consistent development throughout the fall, and with multiple personal records set in their last outing, they are poised to contend with some of the GSC's top programs.
Montevallo Women
The Falcon women's squad heads into the GSC Championship aiming to close the gap with the conference's elite. At the UAH Invitational, Montevallo finished 17th in a deep field but gained key experience racing the 6K distance for the first time this season.
Sable George has been a steady front-runner, placing 56th in 22:56.40 in Huntsville.
Ava Taylor followed closely behind in 23:36.50, while
Morgan Remley notched a personal best of 24:09.00.
Breanna Aultman and
