HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons got off to a hot start in their first road contest of the season with Point University on Tuesday, February 15.  Alyssa Kaminski scored the game's first goal to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game.

After point tied the game at 1-1, Kaminski again found goal again, this time in the fourth minute, with the help of Lara Schuetz to give Montevallo a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the game.

Montevallo netted six more goals in the first half to bring their total to eight.  The Falcon defense held strong and allowed just four goals in the half to enter the break with an 8-4 lead over the Skyhawks.

Kaminski was responsible for five of the Falcons eight goals in the opening half.

Point got within two points of the lead after opening the second half with back-to-back goals to make it an 8-6 game.

Montevallo went on a seven-goal run to take a 15-6 lead.  The Falcons seven-goal run saw four different Falcons record goals, Lauren Duckworth netted three goals, Kaminski netted two goals, and Schuetz and Maggie Johnson each found goal once.

The Skyhawks and Falcons traded goals in the final 10 minutes of play as Montevallo cruised to a 19-11 victory.

STAT OF THE GAME

Kaminski scored seven goals for the Falcons in the victory with five of them coming in the first half.

Kaminski's seven-goal performance is a new record for the Montevallo program.  The previous record was six goals scored by Jami Hudak last season against Truett-McConnell.
