MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's cross-country team posted a top-10 finish in team standings in a 21-team field with an eighth-place team finish in the 2019 Blazer Classic hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Montevallo, Alabama. Montevallo also finished first overall among NCAA Division II/Division III/ and NAIA opponents in the event.

EVENT NOTES

• The Falcons finished in eighth place at the Blazer classic. The Falcons were one of 21 teams competing in the race. The Falcons finished eighth behind seven NCAA Division I teams, while finishing ahead of seven other Division I schools. Montevallo finished ahead of all six non-Division I opponents.
• Montevallo featured four runners among the top-50 finishers of a 179-man field. 
• Sophomore Joe Leventry paced the Falcons with a time of 24:50.78, which placed him 24^th overall in the individual standings.
• Rounding out the top four runners for the Falcons seniors Jake Royster, Seth Graham and Zane Wilson finished 46^th, 47^th, and 48^th with times of 25:43.77, 25:44.08, and 25:46.94, respectively.
• Leventry was the first non-Division I runner to cross the finish line.
