MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's golf team finished as the champions of the 2019 Full Moon Invitational.
The Falcons shot a team score of 595 for a 27-over par.
Montevallo entered the final round tied for the lead and posted an 11-over 295 in round two.
"Coach Sullivan and I are so excited for our women's team," said Head Coach
Justin Pratt. "They really played great team golf and went out and played their best round with the added pressure of being tied for the lead."
Senior
Alexis Berger led the Falcon's finishing as the individual champion with a 2-over 144. Berger posted a score of 75 during round one and shot the lowest round of the tournament on day two, a 2-under 69 to take home the individual title. Berger began the final round in a tie for sixth.
Kayla Shelton and freshman Bernardita Villalba each finished tied for fourth place. Shelton posted a 5-over 76 score in round two, finishing with an 8-over 150 in the tournament. Villalba posted a 3-over 74 in round two, also finishing with an 8-over 150 in the tournament.
Avery Pool wasn't far behind, finishing tied for sixth place with a 9-over 151 overall, after shooting a 5-over 76 on day two.
Alicia Easthope rounded out the Falcons' five tied for 15
th place after posting a final round of 80. Easthope finished with 14-over for the tournament.
Emma Perier,
Macall Miller and
Erica Fuerhelm each competed as indviduals, finishing with final scores of 160, 162, and 175, respectively.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Montevallo's Alexis Berger finished as the individual champion for the Falcons, leading the team to a first place finish also.
- Berger posted a 69, the lowest round of the tournament, and her the lowest round of her college career, to come from five-shots back and win it all.
- Three Falcons posted a top-five finish and four posted a top-10 finish.
- Montevallo finished ahead of five other GSC schools.
