“There was no complacency”: Falcons take third at GSC Championships

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -  The University of Montevallo cross country team capped off their season on a high note after they took third place at the GSC Cross Country Championships, Saturday in Huntsville.

Coach Julia Marquardt remarked on the Falcon success at the GSC finals, "I'm just super proud of the way the girls competed today.  There was no complacency, they were fighting, and they were engaged the entire race.  And because of the way every single girl finished this race, we got that third place finish."

For the third year in a row Justine Glass finished in the top five in the conference.  The Ontario, Canada native finished in second place with a time of 17:35.52, which notched her the third consecutive First Team All-GSC selection in her career.

The Falcon's were paced by Jodi Ann Martin (18th, 18:58.27), Amber Fisher (19th, 19.04.83), and Courtney Keeler (20th, 19:07.02) all of which finished the race as Second Team All-GSC selections.

"Every single girl was competing and doing their job today, really proud of them."
