Joe Leventry is set to compete at the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championships in Saint Leo, Fla. on November 20.
Joe Leventry has been a force for the Falcons on the course with multiple top finishes throughout the year. This season Leventry claimed first place at the Falcon Classic, and fifth at the GSC Championships earning First Team All-GSC status.
Leventry finished 11th in the South Region Championship, earning him All-Region honors and a spot in the National Championship, making him the first ever men's qualifier for Montevallo cross country. In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals had to qualify in their respective NCAA regional competitions.
Thirty-four teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process. The list of advancing teams and individuals is outlined below.
Saint Leo University and Tampa Bay Sports Commission will serve as hosts for the event which will take place at the Abbey Course with the men's race set to start at 8:45 AM.
