NORTHBOROUGH, Ma. - The Montevallo women's lacrosse team continued its academic excellence with five honor-roll selections and a team award from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

"Our Coaching Staff has put an emphasis on academic success since day one," remarked head coach Adrianna Piontek. "We made it an expectation and the team has turned it into a standard. It's something they put a lot of effort towards and are proud of their hard work. This is their future."

To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.  

The IWLCA is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The IWLCA is a 501c(3) nonprofit educational organization.

Currently there are over 500 institutional members and over 1,200 coaches and staff at NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA collegiate programs.
