BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Montevallo men's track and field program put together a solid display of their talent across multiple events, Sunday at the Crossplex during the KMS Invite.
"We had a few personal bests after another great weekend," said head coach
Tommy Barksdale. "We know we still have work to do but I am proud of the way the kids competed."
Joe Leventry was the overall winner of the men's 3K, setting a nationally qualifying time of 8:14.80 while also resetting the school record. Josh Pruitt was an additional event winner for the Falcons, taking first place in the triple jump with a 14.19m distance.
Freshman
Braxton Sanford took silver in the pole vault with a 4.40m mark followed by
Kyle Tidwell who placed fourth (4.10m).
Some of the best finishers for Montevallo included
Will McBride who took fifth place in the 400 meters with a time of 50.53.
Julian Fore completed one of UM's best finishes of the day with a sixth place mark in the 600 meters with a time of 1:23.80.
Gaines Myrick led UM in the throws with a 14.92m mark to take fourth place in the weight throw.
UP NEXT: The Falcons will head to Johnson City, Tennessee to take on the ETSU Buccanneer Invitational on Friday, February 4th through Saturday, February 5th.
