Box Score MONTEVALLO - The Montevallo women's lacrosse team fought but could not overcome the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters, falling 12-9 in season opener.  With the loss the Falcon's slip to 0-1 with LMU taking a 1-0 record.  

Eleanor Bruce and Anja Kuys notched the Falcon offensive effort with three goals each.  Ashley Shen led the Falcons on defense with three ground balls, and two caused turnovers.

LMU jumped out for an early 3-0 lead over UM, but the Falcons kept fighting and tied the game 5-5 by the third quarter.  The Railsplitters survived the Falcons by putting together key goals, allowing them to hold on for the three point win.   

UP NEXT: The Falcons will hit the road to South Carolina to face Coker, with the first draw set for Friday, February 11th at 5:00 PM.
