MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- Senior distance runner Joseph Leventry made the cut in the men's 3,000 meter run to earn a spot in the field at the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.  Leventry qualified in the event with a time of 8:02.63.

In the fall of 2021, Leventry made program history when he was the first cross country runner at Montevallo to compete at the DII championships. 

"Joe has worked hard all year and it has paid off," said Montevallo head track coach Tommy Barksdale. "He deserves this opportunity. We are proud and excited to see what he can do on the National stage."

The championship meet will take place on March 11-12 at Robert W. Plaster Center at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
