FLORENCE, Ala. – The Montevallo Women's Cross Country team opened the 2022 season with a second-place finish at the University of North Alabama Invitational. The Falcons saw five runners finish in the top-20.
"The ladies did a great job this morning," said Head Coach
Tommy Barksdale. "We are off to a fantastic start. We still have some work to do but we are excited for the rest of the season."
Senior
Courtney Keeler was the top finisher for Montevallo with a sixth-place time of 18:53.92.
Caroline Hendon (ninth) and
Amber Fisher (11
th) finished second and third for the Falcons with times of 19:13.48 and 19:14.58, respectively.
Kiarra Walters (16
th) and
Natalie Warner (19
th) each earned top-20 finishes to round out the scoring for Montevallo.
The Falcons' next race will be the annual Falcon Classic on Friday, Sept. 16 in Montevallo, Ala.
