BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – On Tuesday, the Gulf South Conference has announced Angelina Rivas as the Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week award winner for the second time in 2022.
 
The freshman forward scored two goals on nine shots with five shots on target as the Falcons went 2-1 last week.
 
Rivas helped lead Montevallo to a 3-0 victory over Young Harris on Monday, Sept. 5. She scored her second goal of the season with a penalty kick that found the back of the net in the 56th minute. The Huntingdon Beach, Calif. native added a second penalty kick goal and her third of 2022 in the 60th minute of the Falcons' lone loss of the season.
 
Six games into the season, Rivas is tied for fifth in the conference in goals (three) and shots on goal (eight).
 
Rivas and the Falcons will take the field on Friday, Sept. 16 against Christian Brothers at 5:00 p.m. at Varsity Field.
