NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association has released the first regular season edition of the 2022 regional rankings with Montevallo Men's Cross Country debuting at sixth in the South Region.
 
"Being ranked 6th in the region is great," said Head Coach Tommy Barksdale. "The men have been putting in a lot of hard work and it is paying off. We want to keep climbing the ladder."
 
The Falcons were voted eighth in the South Region in the preseason poll but after a second-place finish at the UNA Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 10. Graduate student Joe Leventry led the Falcons with a second-place time of 24:27.61.
 
The Falcons will be back on the course on Friday, Sept. 16 in Montevallo, Ala. at the annual Falcon Classic at 8:00 a.m.
