Huntsville, Ala. – Falcons cross-country finish eighth and ninth at the Gulf South Conference Championships.
Much like their last trip to John Hunt Park, the women's cross-country team tandem of
Natalie Warner and
Amber Fisher were the top two finishers for the Falcons. With a time of 19:10.2, Warner finished in 29
th place, and a time of 19:31.7, Fisher finished in 40
th.
Ana Watters was the third Falcon to cross the line in 20:01.5 placing her 50
th.
Abby Snyder and
Reagan Oliver rounded out the top five scorers for the women's team with places of 53
rd and 64
th. At the 2k mark, the Falcons were sitting between West Florida and Christian Brothers, at seventh, but fell below CBU in the final 3k meters of the race, finishing eighth overall.
The men's GSC championship was like the women's team starting well, being in seventh as a team, but falling two spots.
Drew Roberts crossed the line first for the Falcons in 26
th place with a time of 25:43.9.
Raekwon Hopkins was next in line for UM with a finish time of 26:51.6, placing 51
st.
Drew Thayer and
Cameron Prosser grabbed 55
th and 56
th place running just above 27 minutes.
Aidan Golden rounded out the top five finishers for the Falcons, finishing in 73
rd place, with a time of 27:50.3.
